About the role
DataDrive2030 is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Workforce Development Lead to spearhead our training efforts. This pivotal role will be responsible for developing and executing our training strategy, and sustaining a skilled, motivated, and distributed data workforce of ELOM trainers and assessors across the country and covering all official SA languages.
The ideal candidate will have excellent people skills, facilitation abilities, technical expertise and some exposure to the early learning or education sector. The candidate should be a problem-solver and strategic thinker, with demonstrated ability to engage well with external stakeholders and have an aptitude for people development. They will be expected to take initiative and manage both routine and out-of-the-ordinary tasks with accuracy and interest. They should have excellent communication skills and experience in managing multiple projects at once.
Reporting to: Operations Director
Direct reports: Training Quality Manager; Master Trainer; Workforce Coordinator
Qualifications and Experience
- Postgraduate qualification in one or more of the following: operations management or programme management, human resource management or workforce planning, education, training & development, adult learning, occupational therapy, public policy, development studies, economics or social science
- Certification in learning and development, project or programme management, quality management or monitoring and evaluation/ quality assurance
- Strong practical experience can be substituted for formal qualifications
- 6-8 years’ progressive experience in managing large-scale, distributed programmes or operations
- Proven experience in designing and implementing workforce strategies aligned to organisation growth.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex logistics and multi-stakeholder partnerships.
- Experience managing supply/demand dynamics
- Experience with workforce engagement strategies and managing challenges related to field staff retention and performance.
- Strong understanding of data integrity and the impact of training quality on outcomes.
- Experience in data, research or data-collection environments
- Familiarity with working across national and provincial ecosystems

- A competitive salary of R72,000 – R79,000 per month, depending on experience
