Basic Concepts Programme Assessment

This evaluation aimed to assess the extent to which a programme implementing the Basic Concepts curriculum improves the school preparedness of Grade R learners.

The evaluation also investigated the relationship between Early Learning Outcomes Measure (ELOM) scores (collected at baseline) and Test of Basic Concepts Knowledge (TBCK) scores at end line (a predictive validity sub-component).

After cleaning, a total of 240 ELOM assessments were included in descriptive analyses at baseline. Endline data collection was unfortunately cancelled due to Covid.
